Aluminum EFW (Electric Fusion Welded) pipes are typically made from alloys containing 95–99% pure aluminum, with the remaining composition consisting of silicon (Si), iron (Fe), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and zinc (Zn). Commonly used alloys for EFW pipes include 1050, 1060, 1100, 2024, and 6061, which offer a combination of high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and good weldability. The mechanical properties vary depending on the specific alloy and temper, but generally, the tensile strength ranges from 150 to 310 MPa, yield strength from 50 to 250 MPa, and elongation between 5% and 25%.
